Bishop Tomás Kennedy

Bishop Tomás is the leader of the Evangelical Episcopal Church, and a member of the International College of Bishops of Christian Communion International. During 2007 he joined the leadership board of two of India’s fastest growing church-planting organisations, SAEM (South Asia Evangelical Mission) and CDM (Church for the Distant Ministries). Between them, they currently have 300+ churches throughout south India.

Tomás completed a Business Degree with the University of Limerick (1975-1978). After his theological training, Tomás was ordained a Presbyter in December 2003, and consecrated Bishop in 2007. He graduated from the College of Saint Alcuin with an MPhil (Hons) degree in March 2006, and is an Honourable Friend of the Bodleian Library, Oxford University. He is also a Chevalier in the International Knightly Order Valiant Of Saint George.

Tomás and his wife Lynne married in March 1985. They have three children, Sarah (21), Stephen (19) and Jonathan (16). Tá fáilte roimh Gaeilge. Tomás is an Irish speaker and plays the Uilleann Pipes and Irish Whistles. He has recorded and performed with a number of internationally know Christian artists.
